I was raised Roman Catholic and one of the many reasons I left the Church was their views on homosexuality. Do all Muslims believe homosexuality is a sin?

There are gay people that profess to be Muslims, therefore yes, I suppose there are.
edit: Astagfirullah, I have even read of a gay imam. Interestingly, he had a big beard and dressed in thobes, masha'allah.
They (those that are gay and call themsleves Muslims) have a website too.

I believe it is a sin too, worse than lying, not as bad a murdering somebody. But really only God knows where it ranks. As I am not gay I don't worry about it.

edit: Ok, here it is: http://www.al-fatiha.org/ (I am not promoting this site just posting it. Since I believe it is a sin I can't promote something that says it is ok.)

EDIT: Noor, astagfirullah but I am SO SICK of your posts. I said it was a sin -- CAN YOU READ? I DON'T THINK SO. I also never said there WASN'T a punishment for it, DID I????? DID I????????? GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The question was not is it a sin? The question was are there those that believe it isn't and apparently THERE ARE THOSE THAT BELIEVE IT ISN'T. I am NOT one of them but they are out there and it is a FACT that they are out there. YOU did NOT answer the question. The guy already knows that it is considered a sin in Islam, unfortunately there are people out there that don't go by Islam. It's also a sin for you to go around accusing people of things -- no, I am NOT wolfkarev2, I myself have tried to talk to her about the things she writes. Aoudubillah mina shaytani radjim!!!!!!!

I'm not Muslim but I know that Homosexuality is a sin, just about all religions believe this. Now, I am not your judge, only God can judge you and how he will judge you for that is something I nor anyone else knows.

Yes I believe homosexuality is a sin, and yes I believe that the person(s) should be punished if they live in an Islamic country...according to the Islamic law. For those who don’t live in an Islamic country then I think people should leave them and not gay bash them by beating them up or cursing at them. But personally I just get surprised every time I see a gay person here in the U.S.A (yes I know there’s plenty), but I just don't understand how they don't fear Allah...or whatever they believe. However I do not give them bad looks, just a personal shocking feeling inside. Peace.

Yes all true Muslims believe it is a sin. The one who acts upon it is to be punished by death. I am amazed at some answers here that say they are OK with gays. No Muslim can be OK with gays. Those who said so need to educate themselves more about Islam.

Bandicoo, you do not chose to follow a religion because it appeals to you. You follow it because it is the truth.
Yes homosexuality is a sin and those who say otherwise are falling into the sin of allowing which is unlawful, whether they are shaikhs or priests. We do not follow something just because a shaikh or priest says it, because people are corrupt and do corrupt God's words.

You say you left the catholic church because of their views of homosexuality. Guess what, God's law is not going to change because it does not appeal to you. It is like saying I am not going to follow islam because I do not like that it does not allow people to kill. What you are saying is just as rediculous as that.

You know what, we are not going to tell you that islam does not regard it as a sin just to have it appeal to you. We tell you the truth, which is that it is a sin. If you do not like it and chose to follow your desires, you will bare the consequences of your actions.

In Islam, Homosexuality is a grave sin, but it will not make you a non muslim. Allah SWA says in the Quran 4:16 "If two men among you commit indecency punish them both. If they repent and mend their ways, let them be. Allah is forgiving and merciful."

it is a sin, but still we have gay and lesbian Muslims like any other society, and I blame the strict traditions for it( IN SOME COUNTRIES)..and most of Arab countries doesn't stone or kill the persons who commit adultery, there are no such rules in Egypt, U.A.E, Lebanon, Syria, Kuwait, Bahrain, Amman, Qatar, except for Saudi Arabia and maybe Iran they may sentence them to death...(in some occasions)..but we see men and women that are homosexual , but we do nothing except we pray for them in our heart....not like what is spread that they are stoned to death in al Muslim countries, yes there is a punishment in Islam for it but most of the countries don't apply it in courts..and I never heard about any such cases...but it is a very big sin in all religions and I go with starwhite....good luck

I believe it is a sin but that gay people should not be harmed in any way. It is between them and God. i.e. it is a sin like every other sin, lying stealing etc etc. This is from a religious point of view. I personally have no problem with gay people.
