I keep hearing how some satellite company has 80 HD programs on their HD package. I have Time Warner Cable's HD package and there's probably about 30 HD channels. But, I mostly watch movies and sports in HD, and don't care much for the other channels (like TBS). So, it's fine for me.

Also, I have the cable line coming into the house into a distribution panel in a closet (we installed it when we did a remodel last year - if you ever get the opportunity, do it). We're currently feeding about 6 TVs throughout the house, only 2 of which have the digital/HD package. But, that means we can at least watch the other few TVs to some extent (all the non-digital channels) without having to have a set-top box on each one.

I don't know if that would be a problem for you. But, if you have more than one TV in your house, you have to have a satellite receiver for each TV to watch anything off of the satellite on any of those other TVs.

Time Warner also has DVR in the digital set-top boxes. If you don't currently have it - whether you get satellite or HD cable - you are absolutely going to love it and wonder how you ever got by without it.
