How to rip a DVD into computer to be about 700mb?

Question

I have DVDfab. i want to rip the main movie only. and the finished result to be about 700mb in avi. format. i want it only on my hardrive.

For example.. i used DVDfab and ripped a movie into my computer, but the result was about 4 vob. files and the size was about 4gigs.

so how can i get these 4 vob. files into ONE big file. and how can i get it to 700mb. i do not want to burn anything on a disc, i just want it on my hardrive

when you rip a dvd it rips only the movie. it would be close to impossible to compress a 4gb dvd to the size of a cd. that would be some crazy compression and the picture would be small and be so low quality.
