We just haven't evolved to truly embrace the concept of Faith.

I have a very good friend who is a professed Atheist and I respect him and his view very much. Although our discussions are very in depth, I have never heard him argue against gravity. As a matter of fact, he once fell off a ladder and did not float away.
With regards to his position on evolution, he was and is correct to hold a position of evolution with regards to adaptability, or the changes that take place with regards to accomodating to your immediate circumstances. However, he does question the idea or the theory that you started as a pile of goo; went through a zoo; and now became a you.
Everyday science and technology are discovering the complexity in life itself. For instance, the issues surrounding the genes and the chromosomes within the human body are overwhelming and demand an answer to the questions that are asked. Of course, the list goes on and on.
Moreover, a position of an Atheist is not stupid as much as it is in being unfortunate. Some people choose to believe based on the beliefs of others. Some don't even have a clue as to what they are even talking about. And still there are others who reject or neglect the time to honestly evaluate the vast amounts of fact and evidence out there.
With regards to religion or Christianity, most people I know have taken the time to logically evaluate and reason the facts surrounding their faith. They chose to not check their brains in at the door. Archeology, geology, palentology and others support the writings of the Bible and the people who once lived and walked on this planet. Yet, are we to ignore those facts and arrogantly bash Christianity and all other religions that more than likely followed or derived from the Old Testament.
Everbody's interpretation is different, but that does not negate the facts or the logical reasoning in determing a particular stance. God bless the Atheist and their unbelief because when they are faced with the life and works of Jesus Christ, they must choose to either examine all the facts or reject them. Either he is a lunatic, liar, or Lord. Only they can choose what to believe.
Their faith, your faith, and my faith, will determine the course of our actions. Maybe a better way to ask your questions is to approach the group from their position and ask yourself who, what, where, and why do they believe what they believe? More than likely they are riding the tail-coat of another person's belief and have not taken the time to examine the facts for themselves.
It is more important to build bridges through knowledge than it is to burn bridges.

haha, are you for real? just because the bible says the world was created in 7 days doesn't mean it's true, a smart man like your self could work that out couldn't he? the bible is full of things that aren't ment to be taken literally, but some things that are ment to be taken literally.
I am a christian and I believe in evolution and gravity. you would be one of those people who would say that the sun revolves around the earth hahaha. If you think darwinism isnt real then prove him wrong.

Well some people have to see or experience something to believe.
Doesn't the term athiest mean that they have to believe that there is something to disbelieve???

just to let you know, the Big Bang has been proven as 100% fact..... and why do christians believe in the obviously true story of a deity who impregnated a virgin, gave birth to a son whos name was NOT jesus christ to begin with. he gave himself that name. his name was Joseph alkdlksjdh something. then that child was murdered on a cross and reborn again? and you dot understand gravity and evolution. o so i guess we just stay on earth with magic?

Because we are so stupid!! We don't have the brain capacity required to stay immersed in lies, fairies, and magic. For some reason our feeble little minds tend to stray towards reason, logic, and reality.
Sigh, I sure wish I was smart like them believers, what with their gods and other fancy intellectual stuff that make my brain hurt.

I'm a devout Christian and I believe in evolution. The gravity part is some kind of a joke I'm not getting. But, if your serious I guess we can expect you to float away any time now.
