Are they any closer to finding a cure for Hydrocephalus?

Sabertooth, people don't always die from Hydrocephalus. I've been living with it for better than 40 years now.

No. Hydro is caused by many other things usually ie spina bifida. You can't just cure it by itself.

There is a way to release the effects of this condition.

They can put a shunt into or near the brain to relieve the fluid.

Becauser hydrocephalus often is caused by encephilitis (inflammation of the brain) the cause has to be cured.
Examples, such as hypoxia, mennigitis etc cause it.
Drugs are used to treat this.

Hydrocephalus can be due to excessivily drunk water at huge quanities, altitude sickness and electrolyte imbalances.

Hydrocephalus is the symptoms of an illness and does not it's self need a cure, the cause needs a cure.

But the conditions that cause it are not always easy to treat and people still get brain damage and die.

a cure? i wasn't aware they were looking for one. all you can do is put in a shunt.
