Guinea Pigs need friends!!! So make sure you have a big enough cage and get the piggie a friend of the same sex. (cavycages.com)

Balls and toy are fun
Hanging wood chews
Bobble toys
"P"igloo or wooden hidey house or chubbs tubes
Hay shoved in paper towel tubes
Cat toys,(not soft ones that they can eat or that contain catnip) especially the balls that have slats where the piggie can pick them up. (they like to pick them up and put them down to hear the bell sound)
Fleece tubes or cuddle beds or Hammocks
The Big Ferret Tubes
The balls you can fill with hay (you can hang them or let the piggie roll them around)
Wooden Bird Toys
Music
Cuddling with you

And a lot of floor time and loving :) Piggies don't normally like wheels and often get hurt on them. And the running balls are dangerous for piggie.

Good Luck

Good Luck and enjoy your piggie

He loves our kitten & they keep each other company much of the time, especially when he's in his playpen. We've got several toys for him but just give him a few @ a time & keep changing them so he keeps interested. He's got chew toys loose in his cage & also attached to the cage for variety. Unless we'll be gone for several hours, he gets his daily veggies a bit @ a time so it's more like a treat than part of his regular food (of course he's got pellets, timothy hay & water 24-7).
His cage is in the living room, which may look a bit weird but he's got constant stimulation & company (our girl rats live in the same room). When we adopted him, we were told he likes music & he sure acts like he does, so we sometimes keep a radio on for him when we're not home. He enjoys being spoken to & I swear he likes playing "chase the piggie" b/c most of the time when I go to pick him up he makes this happy sound & runs away til he gets tired of the game. Once I've picked him up he's a total snuggle-baby, which is why I believe that the running is part of a game, not fear (besides, he doesn't do this every time I pick him up).

Big cages, the bigger the better!
Tons of floor time. My guinea pigs have their own room, so they get free range all day. Changing around the layout of the play area keeps them interested.
They love tons of hidey houses, and searching for food.
