Ok im 35 years old. I had this 18 year old girl trying to hit on me on line and she kept telling me she likes older guys. It was creeping me out. Being 35 i really cant see myself dating someone under 25. This is because of common interests and life experience.

Im typically ok with 8 years younger and 5-8 years older than me. Do you think it is normal to be creeped out by someone half your age?

So what is an ok age gap for you? and why?

yeah i didnt buy she was 18 either. I gave her some questions to prove we are way different and it was obvious she couldnt define Romance, a Gentleman, or a Lady.

Im also ok with 10-12 years. If i met a great gal who was 21 or 22 I would have a big a problem as i do with someone still in high school. She cant even have a beer or some drink. Its just weird for me

I would say 5 year age gap either way is acceptable. Nothing else because you get into a generation gap. You will find that you don't have much in common. I wouldn't put much into any kind of internet girl anyway. What happens on the internet is that either she is looking for a "sugar daddy" or she is lying about herself. She may actually be a 50 year old overweight bored housewife having a little entertainment or maybe some guy just out of prison pretending to be an 18 year old or better yet some 60 year old 400 man sitting in his underwear typing away on the internet. Remember lots of lying goes on with any of the dating sites, too. I read somewhere that 70% of the people lie if they are married or not. It's sick. I think you are probably a nice 35 year old man that should date real women from 30-40. Date women in your own city so you will know something about them and the best scenario would be if you had mutual friends. Good luck and stay off the internet for finding love.

Okay, some girls are more mature than guys anyway, and it totally depends on the girl.
A certain type of girl can be the same at 100 as she was when she was 7 years old (silly, demanding, pathetic) to swing right the other way, other girls mature and can turn into women at 15,16,17,18.
It also depends on what type of life they had. I'm the oldest girl in a big family, and while I have an irrevocably wicked sense of humor , I learnt to grow up fast, and become a role model for my younger siblings.
So, at sixteen, I tend to look twice at guys about six to 10 years older because they are more like I am, but to put it the other way round; I get 'creeped out' in every sense of the word when I get guys three times my age giving me the eye and saying I'm grown up for my age and they like younger women anyway. Eeek.
So, I'm totally with you - you have a right to be creeped out, and I'd change whatever username you have that the girl is trying to hit on you on.
Good Luck
Ash

I know at 18 I liked older guys, I went out with a few in their 30s. Now that I'm 31, I look back at them & think they were creepy. But, I think any LEGAL age gap is fine, if you really connect with the person & share something you can talk about.

I think this age difference is too big of a gap. I'm only in middle school and 13 so i dont know too much about age differences yet but i wouldn't want to date someone that much younger than me

Girls want to date older guys because boys their age are less mature than them. But I think 18 might be a little young for you. Only because you're alot more mature than she is. And if it was online, how do you know that she is really 18...?

yeah if she was being like persistant i would be creeped out too. its ok to like older people but that person has to be ok with the age difference too. to each its own. for me i really don't like guys born in a different decade than me (80s) and I really won't date a guy younger than me unless he has his sh*t together because i feel whatever i bring to the table my guy has to at least match it or have something better.
