Do away with Christmas and all the retailers will go broke. That is what carries them the rest of the year.

Christmas ACTUALLY is the celebration of the "old religions". It is celebrating the winter solsitice, also the Yuletide gathering.
The Christians could not convert the heathens and pagans because of the holidays...so they adapted the christian holidays to coniside with the heathen ones, for easier conversion. Easter and Halloween Christmas are the biggest pagan holidays left over from the old religions...and still celebrated by the christians today.

Sounds like what we are forced to do now. Government holidays are stuffed down our throats. I mean why are we still celebrating Columbus Day when everyone knows he didn't "discover" America? How can you discover a place that already had people living there?
Here in Chicago (high Polish population). Pulaski Day is celebrated. Even when they found out he was killed in retreat and shouldn't be considered the valiant hero he was once thought to be.
Oh well.

Can you be forced to celebrate new holidays? I'd move or hide that I celebrate and act sick during the new holidays.
If you're taliking about the old missionaries I say that the "fathers" needed a little of god's reality check. He said not to impose on anyone bc Salvation only comes through SINCERE faith and love. Forcing can't be sincere.

I'd jump up and down. Most holidays, with the exception, perhaps, of Thanksgiving and Fourth of July, are founded with all kinds of pagan cr@p in them that I want no part of. Go to wikipedia if you don't believe me.
If I were forced to celebrate new holidays I didn't believe in, of course I'd revolt.
But if I got to choose what celebrations I'd enjoy, with my family, or with my church members, I'd be much happier than with the current system.

It will not happen. 1st Amendment
No one can force anyone to celebrate a "new" holiday. No one can control what is in my heart or in my spirit.
I'd celebrate it anyway. No one will control my mind. No one can control what I do in my own home.
Retailers will not allow this to happen. Christmas carries them through the rest of the year.

I try to celebrate life every day.........not just on holidays. Hey man life is a gift ............to be experienced........not dictated to on how to live.........that should come in a kindly manner from our elders like our grandparents or someone who really cares. Wisdom passed down from the ages........& that's my complaint about war it stops that passage and makes dependents out of people. Enjoy!
