Several of whom answered my question suggest that I was trying to pick a fight. I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm simply asking because of all the hype around Mit Romney's campaign. It all seems a little silly to me. Why are Christian's "afraid" of Romney?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed.

Because Mormons are Christian, we believe in most of the things that Christians believe, including:

1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him.
2) The Bible is the word of God.
3) Men ought to love one another.

Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith.

Hope this helps! Mormon Christianity has changed my life by helping me better follow Jesus Christ.

Do I consider myself a Christian? Yes!
Do others consider me to be Christian? Maybe, maybe not, but why should that matter...

Why do I consider myself a Christian? Because I worship Jesus Christ. He is my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer, my God.

Why do others not consider me to be Christian? Perhaps because my beliefs are different than theirs. Perhaps because I believe some things about Christ that they don't.

At a recent General Conference, a leader of the Church spoke on the topic of whether or not we are Christians. It's worth reading... follow the link below.

No, they aren't.Because they don't believe in the One God of the Bible, Jesus Christ. They also have several others books of added "scripture". The Bible clearly states we are not to add to or take away from the Word of God. They strive for Godhood, there can only ever be one. I could go on. But you get my point. They are great people, just not saved.

It seems that you've noticed some of the arguing about it going on either here on Yahoo, or somewhere else. Instead of debating what a Christian is or isn't, I will simply share my beliefs, and let you decide.

I believe that God is my Heavenly Father, and that Jesus Christ is His literal and only-begotten Son. Jesus lived a perfect life. He paid the ultimate and infinite sacrifice for me and for everyone who has ever or will ever live. I sin, and have fallen short, and Justice demands a punishment for my wrong-doings. Jesus has paid Justice in my behalf. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. Through repentance, I can accept His gift, and be able to live with Him someday.

Technically yes.Unlike most Christians they will admit that there are some teachings/practices that must remain secret to non-Mormons. This part certifies them as a cult. A Christian cult. They read "The Book of Mormon" along side the bible! There is nothing divine about this book.

The fact that you even ask this question shows that you're not really looking for an answer but rather to pick a fight. Since the name of the church in question is "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints" it should be quite obvious (even to you) that they believe in Jesus...thus making them "Christian". However, what you are really asking is...does their version of Christianity coincide with your own person view? This is typical of Christians...if something doesn't agree with their own views then it must be false, a lie, or evil. Such closed minds. Quite sad.

ABSOLUTELY! We believe in Christ, thus we are Christians.

Besides, how can you have a religion that is called "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" NOT be a Christian religion. Just the name indicates belief and honoring our Lord and Savior!

I am always amazed in how many people keep telling me that I don't believe in Christ and His Divinity. I wish some people, above, would just keep their erroneous opinions to themselves!

You can only know a christian by knowing them. They say they believe in Christ. Do their actions deny it? Do they believe in the Bible? Have they confessed Him as their LORD and Savior? Faith is the key, everything else follows through.
