Satan becoming stronger, or God weaker?

Question

According to the Bible, Satan is the reason people turn away from God as they are decieved etc....when it talks about how in the endtimes almost everyone will turn away from God, does that mean that Satan is getting better at what he does? Or that we're getting weaker for no apparent reason? Or that God is getting weaker at keeping up our faith?

I'm an atheist, but I'm interested in how the religious folks explain it.

That's the question & think it deeply. You would get the answer that all these are simply bogus. Some notorious thinkers imagined these God, Evil etc simply to exploit the innocents like us. They would continue it because they're working behind the rulers/kings/oppressors/ rich businessmen . When businessmen find someone against their profit, the person becomes Satan to them; and only then they engage a so-called religion-leader against those protesters! First they bring Satan & say that all these are Satan's play; if they fail, then they take drastic actions against the protesters.

To me Satan does not exsist...

Satan was created to let people not be responcible for their actions.

So now many people blame some devilish dude and not themselves when they overspend, when they lie, when they steal, when they do not help others, adulter, gossip, etc.....

And the churches make big money off of people feeling guilty for their loss of integrity, but the churches fail in helping people to step back in to their integrity by blaming some satan myth. tht is why they have a church full.

If people did not believe in a devil they would try harder to change things that are obviously not right.

Well, so far it seems that it's probably due to God getting weaker.

I mean, think about it. 6000 years ago, God created the ENTIRE FRIGGING UNIVERSE in six days, a pretty spectacular piece of work. Yet, about 1500 years later, he had to resort to submerging the surface of the Earth just to kill all the evil people, and needed Noah's help to save every animal species. About 1000 years after that, all he could do was push the Red Sea in half to save the israelites. For a while, he punished the egyptians with plagues of disease and small animals, and the babylonians with a curse that affected their ability to communicate. By the time the years were in the AD numbers, all he could do was knock up some poor peasant girl and make a few thousand copies of a fish and a loaf of bread. And now, in modern times, it's considered a miracle when Jesus's face appears on a grilled cheese sandwich!

So when you think about it that way, divine intervention sure has been going downhill, hasn't it?

For the record, I'm an atheist too, I just couldn't resist this opportunity.

As the first answer so well put it, Satan is already defeated.

The only reason Satan can gain any foothold is because God permits him to. God can use this to weed out the weak from the strong, the true from the false, etc.

God can and will not grow weaker.

The Holy Bible, the infallible word of God says, the closer we get to the end of the age, there will be a falling away of God's Saints, and Satan will run rapid, the lawless one who is Satan. (This is Biblical, just in my words)

This battle rages because of the issue of soverenity of the heavens and earth. Satan the father of the lie convienced man that if they follow him, they will get what they want, and they are missing out on great things.He is like a raging lion seeking to devour as many as possible .We are in the last days of this system of things. Satan's rule of earth is ending at God almighty's war ,on Satan and the rulers of the earth.Jehovahs is as strong as in the history of his life he is the Alpha and the Omega .Satan is only alive for the issue of will man worship God if we were'nt given everything by god . Job was part of that issue and showed we serve out of love and freewill.2tim 3 1-5 will help you see what the last days are described as and they fit our time exactly.Jehovah God will soon put and end to Satan,s rule . There is no Satan. That is just an invention of early politico-religious leaders in their quest to control the masses through fear. As if there could ever be an entity which could challenge or possibly defeat God. To believe so is the ultimate in faithlessness in God, as far as I'm concerned.

God extends a grace to humanity as a whole that He apparently is going to withdraw from stubborn unbelievers when his long suffering has finally come to an end.

When it says that "God sends them a powerful delusion" it doesn't mean that God creates that delusion. It means that He withdraws his restraining influence so that Satan can have his way with people who don't love the truth in the first place.

satan and god were codewords for the civil war the romans had. perhaps ceasar augustus who was declared a god was god and mark anthony was called satan.

neither was a real God.

so you see like in the movie "the fall of the roman empire" God is just a title. but the words also are used to describe one person. thus the theory there have been 1000's of emperor, but only one true God.

so yes emperor's and lords have claimed to be gods and even butchered people who wouldn't bow before them, but the one true god is far kinder and doesn't hurt no one.
