could they have just like in other divisions have the top 5-10 teams play each other for the conference, then have a playoff system like that, or shorten the regular season?, just an idea

I hate to break it to you but USC was in the voters mind for a title shot. I don't like them at all but down the stretch they were one of the hottest teams in the country.

I see you know nothing about football. USC started the season with the 8th toughest schedule in the country. It's not USC's fault that injuries caused them to loose to Stanford it happens. Look at Oregon they should be ranked #1 but Dennis Dixon who should also have been the winner of the Heisman got hurt. No polls can predict injuries, but injuries can ruin your team look at UCLA they lost 2 qb's early and finshed 6-6 and they started off number 12 preseason. Florida lost 3 games that means they absolutely suck and did not deserve to be in the BCS get over it. Go play in the Outhouse bowl, while USC play for big bucks in the Rose Bowl. Does your bowl game have it's parade?

Easy now. USC won the PAC so they automatically go because they are not playing for the national title.

Illinois is going because they finished second behind Ohio St. who is playing for the title.

The two best remaining teams from the PAC 10 and Big 10 play in Rose Bowl if neither conference winner in playing for the National Title. That's how it works.

I feel the same way.
I would rather see a good matchup like Illinois vs. Florida!
Then USC could play another matched and bad opponent like Michigan.

You are 100% right!! Why is it that NCAA football is the only sport without a fricken playoff?!!? It is all a joke I would love to tear the throat out of the jerks who thought this crap up. This is by far the worst season since this crap was allowed in. Look at how much hype and ratings the march madness gets-it would be 100x more electric if we had a playoff. Think how crazy it would be for a (cinderella) team in football.

USC got in by winning the PAC -10, So thats an automatic bid. BUT ILLINOIS! Come on! THERE 9-3! In THE BIG-10!!!!
Missorui was way more deserving they should be in there above Kansas and ILLINOIS!

Actually you won't want USC and Illinois in the SEC because those two teams would be playing in the SEC Championship game against each other.

You Got That Right...The worst SEC team would spank any other conferences best team. USC , with it's paid to play players, wouldn't last in the SEC! Speed and Power of the SEC just can't be matched!!!!

Don't worry about it, usc will lose and that will be the end of that. They should have least had given it to Missouri, they get left out for nothing and Kansas gets in?? wow, sad.
