I know I want a little girl kitten, and I am torn between 2 names. 1st is Stella, after the Grateful Dead song "Stella Blue" plus the movie A Street Car Name Desire, it would be cool to call her "Stella!!!", 2nd name is Sally, after my favorite Aunt who passed away a few years ago, she really loved cats herself and I really miss her. Which name would fit s kitten better? Thanks

My hubby is an aircraft fanatic....we named our cats after types of aeroplane!! My cat Vixen was named after a DeHavilland DH110 Sea Vixen and my other cat is named Nimrod! Bizarre I know ...Stella is a beautiful name Sally is the name in an old song..from WW2 by Gracie Fields..

Sally, Sally,
Don't ever wander
Away from the Alley and me,
Sally, Sally,
Pride of our Alley
You're more than the whole world to me...

An apt song for an apt name!

Personality is a better way of naming pets. I've seen people name a pet soemthing rambunctious like "Trouble" and all he ever did was sleep all day. It's always best to wait to see.

I kindof like the Stella thing....it's friendly but if the cat turns out to be more "prim" it's still suitable.

i name pets based on personality not just names although stella may sound cool though sally is more special and meaningful to you.

you choose sad names. name her stella, you don't want her to be named after a dead person. i would hate being named after a dead relative, i want a name that is all mine.

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt.

I generally don't try to name cats before I meet them. But either one would be a very nice name for a kitten.

Good luck!

I would wait till you get the kitten & bring her home, as you get to know her I'm sure her name will become clear.

Good luck with your new girl!

Like the first person said, names SHOULD be based on personality, nothing more
