I have a long haired cat, hair gets all over! On sofas rugs etc.
Is it possible to get my cat groomed in petsmart/petco. If so how much would it cost?

How could I bring her there, she doesnt like to be held for too long, would a leash work like is there one special for cats?

what other things could I get done to her to make her happy and pretty lol.

Thanks, alot!!!!

It would be difficult for someone else to groom your cat. If I were a groomer, I'd charge you through the roof, because unless the cat really enjoys being groomed, she's going to give them hell.

All cats enjoy boxes. That's how you transport her.

She doesn't need to be bathed. She does that herself. The best idea is for you to get a cat brush (there is a screen on the front). You brush the cat, then move the screen forward and the brush is clean and the hair can be disposed of. If you can get her to, you could vacuum her. Some cats like that. Then you also need a lint roller. Brush, then roll. Then vacuum the area around the brushing zone.

You will likely have to train her to sit for longer periods of time to let you groom her.

If she doesn't like to be held, I imagine she enjoys being played with. We have a long stick with a longer string, with some fluffy stuff tied to the string. We move it around, she chases. We fling it up high, she jumps. She's got to play for some time each day or she won't be happy.

Keep her in the house (outside cats die young) and clean her litterbox all the time.

A leash won't work very well. All your cat is going to do is twist and turn until she's either strangling herself or gets loose.

I suggest using a kitty carrier. It's a nice enclosed space that makes her feel much safer, if you don't trust her in your arms.

Yes, groomers at Petco and Petsmart will bathe and brush her. They can even trim her fur so it isn't so long. I have a kitty with very long fur, and I've actually had to have her shaved because the matting got a little out of control.

I don't know how much it will cost in your town. Where I live (Mississippi), it was about $60-75, depending on where I took her.

Yes, petco does have a grooming center. The price varyies depending on what you have done. And don't get a leash, although there are leashes for cats, its better for your cat and you (unless yo like being scratched) to use a crate.

I had inquired one time at Petco about grooming my cat also one thing you should do is to make sure your cats rabbies shot is up to date other wise they won't do it. I'm not sure how much the fee is. You should try to brush her hair everyday if you can't take her to petco. Check out all kinds of brushes at petco. I know they have special brushes for cats that gets notted hair. Good Luck.

My long haired cat gets "beautiful" at Petco...its not cheap. Bath, nails and Lion Cut was $80 plus tip. Bath, nails and ears $43. Now the good news: a local mom and pop place would do everything for $25 BUT my cat went to bite her and she refused to have him as a customer. Good Luck!!
P.S. My other kittie is short haired...only gets her nails clipped at Petco, but that just went up to $10.

Call them to find out! Most groomers do groom cats as well as dogs. I would take her there in a pet carrier. In fact, I'm a little surprised you don't have one already. How do you get her to the vet's office?

my cat is jumpy also, I don,t think a groomer will stop hair from leaving a cat. my cat likes a brushing- buy a large soft brush!
