Hey Katie,
I've been checking out alternative wedding songs for us too..
Check out this link I found.. It's a forum where people have written in their own alternative wedding songs and it has some awesome ideas..
http://www.stereogum.com/archives/what-y...
You'll see mine at the end.. We've been telling everyone we're having 'Conquest' by The White Stripes... lol We think it would be a crack up!
I think a nice one though if you want something slower and more 'waltzy' would be the Regina Spektor cover of John Lennons 'Real Love'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cl8WJ5w8X...
or maybe Lior's 'This Old Love'.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKbvnaGYV...
or 'Into My Arms' by Nick Cave.. beautiful...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG0-cncMp...
This is awesome too...! Saosin's Likea Version cover of 'Time After Time'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxqUL5KWL...
But definately check out the stereogum link. Good luck! :o)
