Excellent question! I've thought about this a lot actually.

OK, suppose Jesus was a virgin birth. These occur in nature, but are always female. In biological terms, Jesus is overwhelmingly likely to have been a woman if he was born without sexual intercourse. If a woman had wanted to become influential in first-century Judaea, she would probably have disguised herself as a man. She would not have had much influence as a woman.

Another issue. Why was Jesus a man? Because he could not have had the influence he had among the Jews or anyone else if he'd been born a woman. Is this true though? If God is omnipotent, surely Jesus could have been a woman and achieved what the male Jesus achieved in terms of what is normally attributed to him, but she might easily have ended up being executed if she tried, so atonement could still operate but not the Good News.

Finally, maybe Jesus came as a man the first time and will return as a woman. After all, it's only fair.

Basically, i'm honestly not convinced Jesus was a man at all. However, does this call Christ's sinlessness into question? It would mean Christ was living a lie. Therefore, if i believe in the Second Coming, i basically have to believe Christ will return as a woman if he was originally a man, or Christ would not have experienced life as a human, but only as a man.

Well, then the Bible would be a lie. If Jesus had been a woman the Bible would have to be different in the prophecies. It is simple as that. Yes, God could have worked salvation out any way he wished but he did not and Jesus was a man and now glorified.

Then half of humanity (the male half) would not have access to the Godhead through the Savior, Who, by necessity of God's Order, must have been a male, Born of a Woman.
