She works at the gym I go to,
Im very patient & have bided my time with her,
Tonight I was talking with her for ages & she was tellin me bout her boyfriend being a complete sh*thead & she's going to finish with him. He treats her like crap and also never gets her little presants or anything.
Blah blah blah ,. . . Money is absolutely no object to me & I always like to go completely against the grain, all the time.

I will buy her a white gold pendant and chain tomorrow and expect absolutely nothing in return for it. After all, its just a gift and Im a generous type of guy.

Is this a bad idea..??

Im afraid that it might somehow create complications!

I love questions like these, so controversial! :)
Yeah, I like her but thats not the point of it. It genuinely is just a gift, nothing more to it. Extravagont gift you might say, but not to me. Like I said, money is no object and its just my style!

Yes it is a bad idea. I cannot simply leave it as the answer without giving you the why of my thinking.

She is clearly telling you all this because she recognizes the fact, "Money is absolutely no object". Do you want to begin a relationship of any type (friendship, bf/gf. etc.) on the premises of money and gifts?

Wouldn't it be refreshing to have any relationship based soley on you, the person and the personality you are and not the financial means? It is nice you have the attitude of "After all, its just a gift and Im a generous type of guy.", but in the end it becomes tiresome and one begins questioning the reasons of relationships that began based on anything but the true friendship.

Develop a good relationship and if you discover good friendship or more, then gifts will be more appropriate. Also, me personally, I would think a man whom I really don't know gives me a gift may be seeking an ulterior motive.

I realize you have the best intentions to try and show you are a nice guy and there are nice guys in the world. However, warning about that kind of personality as I was guilty of it. It sometimes attracts or breeds co-dependency and that is not a healthy relationship as it is one-sided. "Tonight I was talking with her for ages & she was tellin me bout her boyfriend being a complete sh*thead & she's going to finish with him." is an indicator of a person with too much baggage and clearly has no self restraint in sharing too much information. I find that a red flag

Good luck and much prayers!

no, don't buy her the pendant, u don't know if she might have just been having a bad day and took the anger out on her boyfriend or what happened that made her mad. Wait till she breaks up w/ her boyfriend and then give it to her.

In other words:

Yes, it's a bad idea

YES..you don't wanna move in to fast..just when you found out about her finishing her present relationship with her boyfriend. Just let things sink in for awhile and wait till that time comes for you with her. If you buy her a pendant and chain and give it to her as a gift, your not gonna expect anything from her, but she will think your moving to fast for her!!!

It's not a bad idea, you just don't have what it takes to be a real friend yet. True friendship isn't measured in gifts, any fool can buy a pendant. Hold back.

it will create complications. but it is your choice. it's not a terrible idea. i would try something smaller like flowers at first. unless you just like to make a big gesture.
if you really expect nothing, then tell her when you give her the gift that you won't be coming back to the gym. give her your number and tell her to call you if she wants to. then if she doesn't call, you know she isn't interested.
