A healthy breakfast cereal will have a high amount of fiber and a low amount of sugar and fat.
Here are some good options:
-Whole Grain Total (contains 100% daily value of important vitamins/minerals)
-Kashi Go Lean Crunch (high in fiber & protein)
-Kashi Autumn Wheat (high in fiber; organic)
-Oatmeal (made with skim/lowfat milk)
-Cream of Wheat (made with skim/lowfat milk)
Take care!

Alot of cereals are healthy including Total, Special K, and Cherrios (some of my favorite healthy cereals). But any cereal that is low in sugar can help you lose weight as long as you eat the printed portion size. So if really want Captain Crunch this week instead of corn flakes, then go ahead, it won't hurt and you'll still get the same results.
But here are my suggestions ...
- Cheerios: a whole grain cereal with 110 calories and 3 g fiber per cup
- Kellogg’s All-Bran with Extra Fiber: 50 calories and 15 g fiber per 1/2 cup
- Original Shredded Wheat: 80 calories and 2.5 g fiber per biscuit
- Fiber One: 60 calories and 14 g fiber per 1/2 cup
- Wheaties: 110 calories and 2 g fiber per cup
- Whole Grain Total: 110 calories and 3 g fiber per 3/4 cup
Here's a couple of articles on how to choose healthy cereals ... http://merely-flawed.com/index.php/2007/08/28/breakfast-cereal-which-one-do-you-choose/
Hope that helps!

Broken wheat porridge with a little salt. Add a pinch of salt to the water before boiling. Adding milk and sugar woud make it tasty and more nutritious, but you are trying to lose weight. Even so, a solid breakfast is what I would recommend, because you have the whole day to burn off the carbs. Easy ways are using the stairs instead of the elevator, walking about while on the phone etc.

Cereal will not satisfy you. You are correct...it has carbs.
You need protein in the morning.
The best way to eat cereal, for healthiness, is to drink two raw eggwhites for your protein, and eat a bowl of plain oatmeal with a banana and some lowfat milk.

Porridge. It has more calories than all-bran but all-bran is just bran, nothing else. Oat have the best glycaemic index rating meaning they release energy slowly so you don't get a 'high' as you do with something sugar. Of course if you add sugar or honey it undoes the good work. Nice with dried fruit, though.

Many people must watch not only fat & sugar but
SODIUM content also...that's a biggie.
For a change try whole grain buckwheat
or oatmeal pancakes with fresh fruit, or
veggie/egg omelet .Sticks with ya til brunch. lol
