That we're idiots for being slaves to inanimate objects.

Really, as I'm driving to the store to pick up a new pack, I'm telling myself I don't need them, and that I should just quit...but I find myself in the store before I can talk myself out of it.

Smoking is an addiction, Almost all people with addictions know the health risks and want to stop. Personally , I think cocaine or herion addiction is worse for your health. It has been proven that nicotine is the most addicting drug known to man.

been wondering that for years, my parents both smoked for as long as I can remember. Eventually my dad stopped, but that was his own idea, no one convinced him.
I think they know they are harming themselves, but mabye not how badly. Or they just don't care.
Too bad we can't force them to use the Stop Smoking patches or gums they make now.
Good luck to you.

I think nowadays smokers do it because it is harmful to their health. It's a form of self-harm, at least initially.

Went to a back pain seminar and guess what the doctor said? Smoking will mess up your back...that's right it will cause the discs in your back to deteriorate.
