It's been hurting and i was wondering if i could leave until it gets better?

Short-term disability is for any illness or condition that effects your ability to work.
States vary, but most allow for payment for as little as 3 weeks-- You will get a % of your income.
If you have paid sick time at work, use that.
Short-term disability often goes into effect after the 2nd week of illness, but each policy is different.
The key is to discuss this with your doctor to see if he feels you need to be out due to this condition. He is the one who has to fill out the form.
