I just got a refurbished PS3 because my first one broke, and i was wondering is it normal for the ps3 to make 3 beeping sounds while shutting off, by the way when it does this it takes longer than usual to shut off. It only did it once when i was shuting it off. My first PS3 did that once in a while to. Could it be because I didn't sign out of the playstation netowrk or something else because it seems fine.

One time my PS3 made 3 beeping sounds while turning off as well, but it's not a problem.
It's normal for the PS3 to make a beeping sound when you turn it on and if you turn it off my holding down the power button.
My PS3 has only did this maybe 2 times since I've had mine, and I've had mine for about a year. The PS3's are very reliable systems and it shouldn't be a problem, but if the PS3 continues to make the 3 beeping sounds a whole lot, it may be a problem but if it happens every once in a while it's normal.

properly i'm gonna asume you downloaded the uncharted 2 beta at present as maximum 60gb ps3 have been experiencing difficulltys with PSN. some have even overheated, yet that became into tremendously uncommon, so in case you have downloaded, get rid of it and after an afternoon or 2 each and every thing could desire to be lower back to usual. Or your information superhighway is somewhat sluggish and the PS3 is only having somewhat subject change off from long use. wish this permits toodles XD

Its normal. It should beep while turning on and off. If it beeps three times then something went wrong and it will either restart or shutdown. I've gottent he three beeps when Assassin's creed freezes up and I try to shut the system off.

it beeps when you turn it on, shut it down, reset the display settings by holding down power button for 10 sec, or when you press the eject w/o any disc in it

Yes, it's normal. I hear it sometimes too, I don't know why. Like you said it could be because we didn't sign out from the PSN or something, I don't know . . .but it's normal.

yes of course its suppose to do that it means that it is shutting off.
