I honestly don't know the answer.
My personal preference is functional art is best, then, sculptures (3-dimensional), then, paintings.

It depends on which art shows you go to and what type of cliental/people you think will purchase your art. There are many different shows, for all kinds of art. Different shows attract different kinds of people.

It's about picking and choosing what shows will benefit you best.

I've found it is a good idea to have back-up items, so it you sell one item, you can quickly display another in it's place. The more things you have displayed, can be attractive to buyers. That is where art prints/giclees/reproductions come in handy.

If your sculptures and paintings share a same stylistic quality, than the two will compliment eachother, and may resualt in more sales. That is why it is good to try to find other artists simular to you, but in other mediums, like jewelery, to display beside. Can you imagine a Leonardo painting beside a Piccaso?...if the two were beside one another it would such a contrast that it would be an eye sour.

Always advertise the things that make your artworks great, such as the quality matterials you used, how it was handmade with care and thought, and your enjoyment in making something other will enjoy to. Never let your originals go cheaply.

Anyway,...best of luck

Good sells best. If it isn't good it does not sell no matter what it is.

Paintings sell good because there are so many of them. Ceramics and glass art are highly fashionable at the moment.

What size pedestal did you have in mind? Mostly bronze sculpture starts in a high price range. They sell as good as paintings in the same range no matter what the size.

Yes price does matter even in art.

They look very promising! good work. Selling crafts is always a tricky thing. I was the buyer for a local craft gallery for years and I can give you an idea of what you need to do to make them sellable. Pay attention to all of your edges and joints. everything should be clean and seamless, even the bottoms. They should look handmade but not messy or unfinished. The white one in your picture for example has a beautifully textured body and delicate face, I love the little gems, but the wings look unfinished. The black and gold one in your picture looks well crafted but the gold paint is messy and not even in thickness or line. Basically clean them up ----you are almost there!!!!!!

It depends on what you mean by "sell better". Sculptures generally sell for more money because they are more expensive to make. More paintings sell in general because people want to decorate their walls. It also obviously depends on whether you are trying to sell art to people who want to decorate their houses or to gallery owners.
