I had one named Cokette --French for little biscuit.

The small dog needs a lot of attention. Check into the breed before you get one.

A good way to convince your parents that you're capable of caring for a pet would be to show them how responsible you are in other ways. Maybe try doing extra chores around the house, try to find a petsitting job in the neighborhood to show them how much you care about pets, or get books on different breeds of dogs and make sure they see you reading the books. That way they know you really want a dog and it's not just "the thing" you want for that month.
Also, there isn't a there really isn't a "miniature yorkie". That's just something breeders use to attract people who want small dogs. If there is, they probably aren't a purebred. However, a Yorkie is around 4-7 pounds (so cute and tiny!!)
Good luck, your dog will be your best friend for forever!

Well, I wouldn't go with most of the ones you named, simply because so many people name their dogs that. If you want something more unique, go with Alora, or Kiwi, or something along those lines.
Don't forget that even though yorkies are small, they require a lot of work, because they are very long haired dogs and will either need grooming or hair cuts for the rest of it's life. If you want a little dog that is easier to care for and much less expensive, go with a short hair. Like a Jack Russell terrier, or a Boston terrier (which are my favorite). Look up different dog breeds and their characteristics and temperaments to find something that matches better with you, your family, and your home.
When and if you do get a puppy, please try to adopt/rescue from a shelter - and don't buy one from a puppy store or a breeder. I'm not saying this out of a biased opinion - I happen to work at a pet store. But mine is against puppy mills and such so we don't sell them anymore. Adopting equals saving a life!

Whatever you name her will be fine. My concern is do you know what it takes to raise a Yorkie? Wow!! It's hard! I have a Yorkie. I never could potty train her so I sent her a professional trainer to be potty trained. Then of course you have to maintain the training. You have to make sure the pups blood sugar does not get too low (hypoglycemia). The pup should wear a harness instead of a collar because Yorkies have delicate windpipes (trachea's). There's more things you have to be careful of with a Yorkie because they're a pain in the butt. :P
It's worth all the trouble to have a Yorkie because they're so sweet (mine is anyway) but please keep in mind all of the work and not just the names.

I think it is best to name your dog according to there personality. but for such a small dog I think you should give him a big name like Hercules or something like that.
