Before they can install a mast on any property. they have to notify the public by making an announcment in the local press thay they intend to do this, and then they have to wait for 2 weeks to see if there are any objections to this. They then have to apply for planning permission. Mobile phone masts are not sited anywher, but in a position where they can relay signals to anothe mast this also determines the mast height.
