You dont. This is a normal reflex when saliva accumulates and pools at the bottom of your throat.

Ask him or her to put the little sucking mechanism on low and leave it hooked into the side of your open mouth. Problem solved.

His or her assistant should do this routinely anyway. If this dental office is not on the ball on this minor relief for client discomfort, change dentist.

Request a saliva ejector ('the little suction mechanism') here time think ofyou've have been given an appointment.... it will eliminate the excess water/saliva from the lower back of your mouth... in specific circumstances the urge to swallow is in basic terms that: an urge...and in many situations there's no longer something in there.. wish this helped~ :)

well, it helps if the tv is on, so you can focus on that rather than the fact that the dentist is poking around in your mouth
