Well they are described as the pure in heart, so I would take that as honest, selfless, noble as well as many others. They are also the people you see that have a certain glow about them and you can tell they carry something with themselves. I'm sure this is the type of person you are. At least this is the type I am striving to be.

The basic definition is pure in heart.
When we become one with Christ and demonstrate Christ-like qualities in our love for one another, then we will be a Zion people. The place of Zion is inhabited with Zion people, thus Zion is the dwelling place of the pure in heart. A community full of people that are possessed of faith, hope and charity with an eye single to the glory of God.
Sounds like a nice place to be. The fact is that it can be done. It has been done in the past. Enoch developed a Zion society. Melchizedek developed a Zion society. The Nephites after the resurrection had a Zion society.
It has not happened in our time, although some tried. The saints have not become pure in heart yet. That is what we are tasked to do before Christ returns. There must be a people ready to receive Him, a Zion people.

Zion is the pure in heart.
There's an LDS author who has written two fiction books about Zion, using the people of Enoch as a way to describe it. I haven't read the first one, only the second. I found that it did a really good job of explaining what Zion is -albeit in a fictional setting.
The one I have is Zion: The long road to sanctification by Larry Barkdull.

If I remember back to my Seminary Days- in Genesis I think, it defines Zion as - One Heart and One Mind.

Ok- it was Moses not Genesis- I could have sworn it was in Genesis too though.

Moses 7

18 And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.

Moses 7:18... The Lord defines Zion... "they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them."

Do you mean of Zionists? A Zionist is simply any person that believes the Jews have a right to a homeland. That's all.

Peace
