Good Choice. Great caliber and Savage makes some really accurate guns -- especially their model 10 series. I think you'll like the 20" bull barrel. The bull barrel is a much more thick & stout barrel and doesn't flex like a thinner barrels. The 20" barrel is much friendlier in the woods and brush than a 24" or 26" barrel, and easier getting into and out of a truck. The only thing you give up is about 50 feet per second in velocity. That is about 100 ft. lbs. of bullet energy --- so instead of launching the bullet with 2700 ft lbs, you are coming out of the muzzle with 2600 ft lbs. The deer won't feel the difference -- you have twice what you need. With the shorter barrel it handles easier, points on target quicker, and is much more convenient in the woods. You should have 1" to 1 1/2" groups at 100 yards with that gun, especially with that Accu Trigger. A real shooter -- right out of the box.
