If so, how did you do it? Did you buy him a ring (wedding or engagement ring)? How did he respond?
Thanks!

I guess I should have posed my question differently -- I am not looking for sexist views or "no I didn'ts and I never would"'s, I am asking for women who proposed to their fiances to share their experience with me. It's fine if you didn't and thanks for answering, but I'm looking for some who did. Thanks. :)

I asked my fiance a couple years ago. I did it at a concert of our favorite band as they played our song. The location didn't let me get down on one knee, but I leaned in to him and whispered (which was actually yelling over the music) "will you marry me?" I slipped a gold band onto his finger as he said yes. It's my intent to get him a nicer band for our wedding ceremony. He proposed to me with a ring about a year later. It's my belief that the man doesn't have to do the proposing. Woman have every right to ask too. Plus, if I'm going to wear a ring showing the world that I'm taken, I want him to wear one too.

I asked my husband 12 years ago on friday. I dressed up in a very sexy outfit and langerie and arranged for a friend to take him for a few hours so I could get everything ready. I made a nice romantic picnic and I just asked him. I think he wasn't expecting it and didn't give me an answer, he just wanted my sexy body. I had to ask him again and he said "Of course". Been married happilly ever since. Sometimes I wish he were the one to have asked me, but oh well. We have a really good marriage. Much better than others I see. We're open and honest with eachother and don't hide anything. Good luck. Oh, no I didn't give him a ring. He's not a ring kind of guy. To this day, he doesn't wear a wedding ring.

No I didnt but I did let him know that I was feeling hurt because after 3 and a half years he hadnt asked me yet. I asked him if he was sure I was the one or if he was still waiting for something better to come along.
He was so upset that I was feeling this way. He told me he
did want to marry me and we started planning our day.
6 months later on our 4 year anniversary he suprised me with a proposal and a ring. I am so happy.
He would not have wanted me to propose to him. He would of thought I was stealing his thunder. I jokingly asked him once and he laughed and said "no, I am supposed to ask you"
be careful if considering asking him. Feel him out on the idea first because while some guys love the idea, many do not.

HECK NO! I think somethings need to stay traditional. Otherwise the woman just ends up looking pushy & impatient.

Nope, I didn't, and I never would. I think that's the man's job. That sounds kinda sexist, huh.
