I'm a US Permanent Resident with Taiwan citizenship. What do I have to do if I'm planning to visit Norway for a month? Will I need to fill out form I-821 ?

Please answer as detailed as possible. Thanks

If you have your travel permit, you will not have to do anything.

If you don't, you will need one.

Fred S can give me thumbs down all he wants, but he is still wrong.

You will obviously also need your passport from Taiwan, but having a green card soes not ensure anything. My wife is not a US citizen but she has a green card. We visited Scandinavia last year and she was required to have a travel permit. She still travelled under her foreign passport, but to reenter the US we had to show the Permanent Resident Card and the Travel Permit.

Also, Norway has open borders, so you will not need a visa there.

A Form I-821 would not apply to you. It's for Temporary Protective Status which you do not need. If you're a legal permanent resident of the U.S., you will need your valid, unexpired I-551 (green card) to return to the U.S.

I'm sure Norwegian Immigration would like to see your passport. I have no idea if citizens of Taiwan need visas to enter Norway.

You do not need to file form I-821.

You should contact the consulate of Norway in US to find out whether you need a visa to Norway as a Taiwanese. Also, mention that you are LPR of US. US immigration form has nothing to do with Norway visa rules.
