I know you say she isn't using drugs but how can you be for sure? The number one reason people steal from their parents are for drugs or other illegal activities. Does she have a boy friend or friend that is a drug user or in trouble with the law? If my child did this, I would go from the point of view that I am very concerned about her and what is going on. I guarantee you something is going down.
If she won't tell you what is going on, then I would let her know how disappointed you are and that it is illegal. Give her a date to return you jewelry or file charges. She has to know there are repercussions for her behavior.

are you sure she pawned it?or she just said she did?is this the first time she did this?if not, maybe she's suffering from kleptomania.otherwise, there's something she's not telling you.maybe she has a problem right now?if so,it's not the right time to kick her out of the house,or to tell her to find her own place.i think she needs your support.tell her you love her,and maybe you can talk things out.tell her there's nothing that she would tell that you won't understand.why, you're her mother.give her all the love that you can give.if you can't trust her maybe you better keep your valuables in a safe place for the meantime.let her know you understand.calm her, talk to her in a mild manner, maybe she'll start talking what's the real problem is.i believe she has a problem that you don't know because she wasn't like this before, was she?understand her.you're her parents and maybe you're all she's got for now..

People pawn things to get cash quick. Question is why does she need the money quickly and why wouldn't she just ask you if everything was legitimate? Sorry but it sounds like she is in trouble. You don't know if she is doing drugs or not...you are not with her all day. Your jewelry today, her's tomorrow, and what next.

You need to put a deadbolt lock on your bedroom door and USE IT. At least turn a closet into a safe and store all your stuff into it.
Secondly, your daughter is into something bad, or she wouldn't be plundering your jewelry. Take her stuff and lock it up until she returns your stuff.
Third... get her out of your house. The easy way is to get rid of the cable TV and internet access, then only sporadically buy the most minimal of groceries (like peanut butter and bread). If you are paying for her cell-phone, tell her that she needs to take that over because in one week you will stop paying for it.
When she moves out of you house, change the locks.

Personally if you can not trust why is she still under your roof. Sometimes tough love is the best if she can not get your stuff out by Friday then let her know that you will contact the police and report it stolen and she will find the locks changed and she will find other accommodations elsewhere. You do not need an explanation you need your property back. Does she understand she is a thief!

The only reason to pawn anything is to get quick cash. You never get what its worth when you pawn something.
So, if shes not on drugs and all that, why does she need quick money?
Second, 24 and still at home? Im not saying to kick her out, but I would definatly head in the direction of getting her in her own place.

If she ADMITTED Taking the jewerly, CALL THE POLICE!!!!!
She's a thief and should be punished!!! she knows right from wrong and she knows what she did was theft!!
And why is she still living at home at 24???!!!!!! If you don't call the police, give her 30 days to GET OUT!!!! If she doesn't, when she leaves the house, have the locks changed.
You can't trust her, she's a thief!!! She has no respect for you, no love for you. Sounds like you raised a spoiled brat!!

Not trying to imply she's doing drugs, but if she isn't, then what the hell is she doing that she won't tell you? There's something not right there, especially if she is so secretive about everything.
Time to kick her out of the nest, her disrespect for you crossed a line there, and that can't be uncrossed. Either she comes out clean and tells you what's going on, or you do something about it. Remember, you are not asking her a favor when you request information, you need to be the tough one.

Kick her out and report it as a theft to the police. If she hasn't learned already that this is seriously bad (illegal) behavior, perhaps you now have one last chance to demonstrate this. However, it may be too late for her. But you should not have to spend many years of your life giving her chance after chance, only to realize 20 years from now, after you've lost everything yourself, that she's never going to change.
