Usually dark colours will fit the bill for masculinity. Black and white are okay. You might also consider gunmetal grey or grey-tones. Either of those will go with stainless steel accents like a silver lamp or silver framed desk.
If you don't want the modern look, use dark browns or beige. Those compliment dark wood furniture. You can always paint the room's trim a lighter colour for good contrast.

Definitely something dark - charcoal gray, black, dark brown, dark blue.
You can always liven it up with some bright colors like bright orange or lime green.
If your room is quite small and you think it might look a bit dark, include lots of white as accessories or furniture, plus shiny surfaces like chrome.
When you choose your paint color from a paint chart, bear in mind that when it is on the walls it will look a lot darker - so try it out with a tester pot first, or pick your color from the swatch card, then actually buy the same color but 2 shades paler.

Hmm. frequently i imagine of darkish hunter or wooded area eco-friendly with brown timber accents even as i imagine of 'masculine' colorations/rooms. Blues are sturdy, medium to lighter colorations, yellow even although that isn't be 'masculine' sufficient--this is the colour of ambition although so if he needs some oomph occupation or practise-smart it may help, LOL! somebody else the following suggested khaki user-friendly brown i imagine might want to look cool.

1] what is your favorite color? [ blue, red, green, etc. ]
2] get a spread or comforter in your favorite color, or a print with your favorite in it.
3] buy curtains to match, and pillows in print or solids
4] pick fav color from the print, and paint walls that color.
5] pick a metal that goes well with chosen color - brass, chrome, copper - for lamps, candle holders
6] use the other colors for small accessories - ornaments, etc.
