Can you change the man that you love?

My boyfriend and I have been together for more than a year. We have moved from place to place trying to find somewhere where we can settle down and be happy. He wanted to move to a place because he thought it would be good for me where I could find more opportunities for a job. Well, I got a job, but he was stressed out that he couldn't. So he would take it out on me. I honestly don't think he understood what he was doing to me. We then moved to his hometown and he still did not find a job. I was away from my family and was very homesick. So I left him and came back home. I have not been so miserable in my life. I miss him and have talked to him about getting back together. He has emotionally abusive tendencies, but he is still a really great guy and I know he does not want to be without me again. I know he truly loves me. I want to compromise with him so we can both be happy. But now my family and friends do not like him because of all the bad things I said and made me the victim.

you cant change nobody. the only think you can do is talk to him and hope and pray at he does change. he can only change for himself. nobody else. it takes time. when you have waited for a good while for him to change and he hasnt, its time for you to leave. trust me, been there and done that. i just got out of a relationship that was the same way. it hurts but in time, ill be better and ill get a man that will treat me like a queen. easier said then done, i know. it just takes time. he was to change for himself and nobody else. hes the one that wants to want better for himself.

Well kid sounds like you have a major problem. Ditch the bum for good.
Emotional abuse tendencies will evidently lead to physical abuse.
Sounds more like he doesn't want to keep a job, sounds more like he is looking for someone to sponge off of.
