You're much better off getting a temporary dye kit from the store. Food coloring will wash out, but it will take more than a day or two, and it will look bad in the process.
Your local drug store will have several options for temporarily changing the color, including shampoo in, spray in and mousse.

i could strongly recommend in comparison. I additionally strongly recommend you to not bleach your finished head, exceptionally once you're hair or your chum's hair is a depressing shade. Koolaid can in basic terms be used to temporarily dye hair and that's provided that the koolaid is blended with warm water. It has a tendency to final in basic terms a pair of washes. Like i replaced into asserting, do not bleach your finished head in case you have dark hair except you want your hair to finally finally end up feeling like straw or worse falling out. that is referred to as over processing. to not point out that throughout the experience that your hair is dark the bleach will turn it an unpleasant orange and uneven shade which you would be caught with in view which you is only not waiting to bleach your hair lower back for months. i could recommend only paying for the colour which you rather want and if that is a loopy shade like blue or vivid crimson then you certainly could desire to slowly initiate lightening your hair in the previous you dye it. solid success and don't be impatient!

I know this is going to sound weird, but if your worried about your hair becoming damaged, use Kool-Aid packets. Put the kool-aid in a bowl( several packets) and under dilute it with water. dip your head in the mix til your hair reaches desired color.

it will come out eventually. you may have to wash it two or three times.
it's not going to permanently stain your hair though.
