I probably would have reacted to that remark but not in the way you did, it is easy to forget the person is your boss it situations like that but I found after several cursing matches with management in previous jobs that scilence works best. Had u not cursed back you could have probably taken the situation over his head and played on the fact that you now have the advantage, i'm sure his manager wouldn't be pleased to hear what he said to you.

I would go and apologise for reacting in that way and point out that calling me stupid was well below the belt and document everything that is said between you.

Good Luck

You stated you're having a classic being pregnant. that may not a reason of your husband to be despatched domicile. women have infants each and all the time, devoid of their husbands. in case you have been in misery, or there became a huge gamble the two you or the baby won't proceed to exist the beginning, he could be on a airplane domicile. I witnessed an E3 Engineman interior the US military get a F14 experience off the deliver to Pearl Harbor, then a private jet (The Admiral's) to San Diego, Then a police escort in an ambulance to Balboa medical institution, because of the fact his command became informed that neither his spouse, nor the toddler could make it. the US military made particular he became there. It seems, the two mom and baby survived and have been in trouble for slightly, yet ended up happy and healthful. So, if there's a reason of your husband to be there, he could be. My Brother and that i've got been born in a military medical institution, while dad became in Viet Nam. He did no longer get to return domicile the two. He won a telephone call and a telegram. I wish you, the toddler and your husband nicely.

There is a big difference between management and leadership. This sounds more like a manager, and any remark of that sort should not be tolerated in the workplace. Unfortunately, you should not have stopped to his or her level. Silence would have been a better direction, and then to discuss the issue with the manager in private when both parties are relaxed and some time has passed to let everyone cool down. At the meeting, let the manager know what he said, was not appreciated.

I would never curse out the boss even if he deserved it. Totally unprofessional. Besides that he would report me to HR and they would have fired me by the end of the day.

That depends...are you a member of a union? If so you might get away with this. If not you may be given your walking papers. Bosses can do that.

What kind of a job is this? How old are you? What kind of crap has he been dishing out at you? How desperately do you need this job?

Sometimes you just have to bite your tongue and pay your bills.

Other times, you can tell him to shove it and walk out. We don't know your situation.

you probably won't get unemployment if he fires you because of insubordination - you have to watch your mouth in the workplace

NO, I don't think I would have called him something back. He IS the boss and even though it was not professional for him to call you stupid, it was his right to say something if you were screwing up.
