Being an ex Pemberton man I can tell you Wigan is not good for a week..not even a day. Alton Towers fun park is good fun, London for all the sights, Lake district, Cornwall, Devon for the views. Blackpool pleasure park and the Pepsi Max. Edinburgh and the Highlands of Scotland. Southern Ireland is gorgeous. My biggest tip is get any plane that leaves Britain for Scandanavia or Southern Europe.

Go hiking in our beautiful countryside. Some of the most beautiful areas are: The Chiltern Hills, North and South Downs in south east England, Savernake Forest in Wiltshire near Marlborough, and the Mortimer Forest and Long Mynd
in the Marches area (Herefordshire and Shropshire).

Depends the sorta stuff you looking for. I find the North East and North West have the best mix of different attractions, and many places are well off the beaten track, but worth a visit. I Can provide more details if needed - just contact me at paul_wood91@hotmail.co.uk or www.myspace.com/solonumber2

come to london! greatest city in the world, you can avoid the cliches or being a tourist, avoid madame tussauds and crap like that, the real london is totally different.
London is great for its night life so go out partying, a tip from a local though, avoid leicester square and other tourist bar areas, get to know the real london by going out in east london like shoreditch or brick lane or go out in Soho in central london, always a good night.
Don't eat at an aberdeen angus steak house... they are tourist traps, have a look at time out london.com for some different ideas.
Shopping is great, but avoid saturdays like the plague! Chose instead to go for a nice walk in one of the many lovely parks we have, if its a good day, go to regents park and hire a rowboat or walk along the southbank (lots of great pubs down here, check out the Anchor). Go to a gig in the evening, try KOKO in camden or Bush Hall in shepherds bush.
Apart from london if you've got time, manchester is a brilliant city but if you wanna see something other than cities, our countryside is beautiful, go up to the new forest or yorkshire dales, or see the seaside in brighton. Or go to somerset or cornwall for traditional english.
enjoy!
