The whole idea of paintball is to shoot each other with... PAINTBALLS! Messy. Can get you in a ton of trouble. I have one neighbor who was shot in the eye by one on Halloween back in 2000. Nearly blinded her. The kid that shot her was 15, but tried and sentenced as an adult, that means he went to jail.
On the other hand, pellet guns and bb guns were meant for target shooting or small pest control (like mice)

If you were my kid, and I was considering allowing you (allowed, not aloud by the way) to have any gun, things I'd be thinking about is maturity, responsibility, how clean is your room, can I TRUST you, etc.
PROVE you are ready for a gun to your parents.
You might also be thinking airsoft, which is like paintball more than pellet guns. They don't make a mess. The intention is to shoot each other with them, but there's also targets to use. They are certainly less lethal than a pellet rifle and less mess than a paintball gun. No matter what, I'd say if you are a minor, you need parental supervision at all times with any gun too.

I'd say both are about the same. Many paint ball and BB guns are capable of shooting at high velocities that could cause quite alot of pain, depending on what make/model you end up getting.
I'd have to say, The most dangerous aspect of these weapons is their capability to cause eye damage, Regardless of the power, Especially from close range.
So whatever you do don't shoot your eye out like Ralphie from A Christmas Story

Both can break glass, or put out an eye. Both can kill a bird. BB's are much cheaper, but since paintball was actually designed to shoot at people, I will go with it. You still need all the protective gear to be safe.

A paintball gun is safer and more fun, you can goto many paintball fields, speed ball or woods ball and get into tournaments, or scenario's..... get on teams and have alot of fun.... I have been playing for 6 years now and it never gets old.... BB guns are boring..... go with paintball, you will meet all kinds of people and have a good time.

do not try this. that is going to gum up your gun and render it ineffective. that is most of the time not fixable because of the fact it gets caught on your gearbox and does not enable it to spin good. 6mm BB gun is likewise regularly occurring as an airsoft gun. i could tremendously not recommend those BBs. Use everyday bbs.

yeah i would agree with the other guys but in my opinion i think a paintball gun is much more safe.since they were built to be shoot at ppl . but if u decide to play u better where much need armor. l8r

paintball gun, but it can still be dangerous depending on the user. both can be equally safe but if you get hit with a BB it will do more damge than a paintball.

neither both will hurt if shot with one both will break the skin and both will land you in trouble with the police if used a manner that hurts others and causes damage to public, private property
