Good luck. It is difficult. If you don't succeed with this, try Chantix. It was the first thing that ever really worked for me. Yesterday was one year for me.

Ok, well theres a few issues here. First of all many smokers feel terrible when they quit, its quite common, part of the hold cigarettes have over people, ie its why its an addiction. Coffee is similar, it tends to affect your alertness and possibly sleep patterns (depending on how/when its used). Also Atkins himself got fat and died, mostly because his diet was all about carbos and not about other issues like fat/sugar intake, etc... Atkins did have some interesting points but for the most part the diet is really a fad thing that persisted because it had an easy name and easy message. I seriously suggest you see a professional nutritionist and they might even be able to give some assistance with the smoking thing if theres any healthy dietary ways of making the quitting smoking thing easier.... But don't give up, your on the right track DOING something about your health, any improvement (as in any amount of less smokes, better diet, more exercise) will help you get healthier and live a better life, it just may take time so you need to be prepared to hang in there and outlast the problems it throws at you... I wish you well and hope this helps

It's partly psychological...try
1) Sucking on lollipops and/or smooching the heck out of your g/f to relieve stress :-) Sex works too if u can get away with it...
2) video games and stress balls...to keep your hands busy with something other than cigs
3) as you have found out, nicotine gums and such to gradually get off chemical addiction (ONLY if the lollipops and activities for your hands aren't enough)

I've read that a good balanced diet can help cut down the cravings. Try eating real healthy and it just might help.
