I don't think you can 100% of the time, but I generally simply focus on what is positive and very rarely get depressed

~~~ 1 ,,, You can't,,,, but you can practice various forms of Meditation,,,, and change your Outlook(attitude) in between practicing the Mental Discipline that you've decided to pursue. Don't give up. It takes time to find a method you'll like and ,,,,practice, practice, practice. When adversity arises you will then be prepared to face it with a Pure Mind at an Instant's Notice,,, as much as is possible,,,, Note: It does not require one to sit in the Lotus Position for hours while chanting some Mantra. That certainly works for some,,, maybe even for you. There are many methodologies in which to choose. ~ Namaste`
The mind is the most malleable organ in the body.It actually experiences physical changes in response to stimuli.I'm reading a book right now called destructive emotions that deals with your question.Buddhist monks are some of the most amazing test subjects in the world when it come to controlling their mind and body.It takes years of meditative training though to achieve.Try looking into the link below. EDIT:By the way,the book I'm reading was recommended by 2 of my friends who are very high strung people.I'm generally very even tempered by nature so my interest was mostly in the neurological, biological ,and historical aspect.I'll leave a link to the book also.
I don't think it is possible for a human being to feel good all the time. I wish it were so. There are many methods to try and control one's thoughts though.
Read a lot of Wayne Dyer and then do what he says. Also worth reading, The Way of the Spiritual Warrior by Dan Millman.
I don't care who they are nobody can do that..
I do try to look at the positive side of everything and know that it could always be worse, but at times things even get me down
Can I control my thoughts? No. But by submitting to Jesus,
I don't need to work that hard.
As for feeling good all the time? That becomes less of a focus than resting in His Joy.
You can't. This is what Buddha's enlightenment or satori is all about. It's an admittedly unattainable goal. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool or a conman.
I don't.
It would be nice though, if I had a life like that.
