The walls are painted Benjamin Moore's Filtered Sunlight which you can view here... http://www.materials-world.com/paint-colors/benjamin_moore/Benjamin-Moore-Color-31.htm ... I am not very fond of the color (I wish I would have chosen more of a creamy color) but it will have to do for now. I tend to like the color schemes that Pottery Barn uses in the rooms shown in their catalog. Any ideas for nice throw pillows or anything that will offset the blah tone of the dark brown and yellow?

accents could be in aqua or pale yellow, or pale pink peachy colors, with a nice teal green. Or even burgundy, gold, green combination. You might try to find one accent piece that you like, a painting, throw, vase, something like that that has coordinating colors and then decorate around that color scheme.

considering you have some brown in there, you will ought to maintain the earth tones. to enliven, i might paint the partitions a cream, very practically like a khaki shade. Burgundy might make a extreme-high quality accessory shade. and you have the two those colours for the curtains. do no longer think of via fact the colors are darkish that that's unhappy, think of of it as comfortable. Fill it with extreme-high quality lights and candles. upload some artwork on the partitions - or extra applicable yet, fill it with photos of acquaintances and family individuals. yet another determination may well be to color one wall to look like brick - which could be completed very particularly with painters tape. it will make the room look like a loft. sturdy success!

your colors are pretty neutral, so just about anything will do. Pink & brown and blue & brown are very popular color combos right now - as evidenced here:

If you're not into trendy, then go with green or orange for a more nature inspired palette. Or go with red or plum for sophisticated drama.

I would add an area rug for color:

1] pick one metal - brass, chrome, or copper to use in room
2] then add some brights - try:
hot pink
bright red
orange, peach
banana, lemon
lime, leaf green
aqua, teal
sky blue, smoke blue
lavender or purple
in drapes, pillows, ornaments, throws or afghans, etc.
3] add a living plant, artwork that repeats your colors, and it's looking nice already!
