I think frosty colors like pale blue and silver and white would look lovely. Maybe with pale green or teal...

Winter weddings should have warm colors. Wine, maroon, crimson, dark forest green, royal purples, navy blue, David's Bridal has a deep blue green called Marine. No whites--use "winter white" which is more cream.
My cousin did emerald and cream. Jewel tones are beautiful and have such depth. Sapphire, ruby, emerald.
Brown is huge--espresso, chocolate. You can even use more natural colors like darker shades of sage green, or something like olive. You could have two colors of the same palette--like champagne with mocha.
Metallics are great in winter, but it doesn't just have to be gold or silver. Copper, bronze, pewter.
The only thing I think is not appropriate is pastels--baby pink, sunshine yellow, sky blue. What colors do you like? Which ones are your favorite? Personally I don't like silver and blue. Too Cinderella theme for me. It's like Tiffany blue and chocolate. So overdone. Do you have a theme you are wanting to go with?
Instead of clear glass vases for centerpieces, use thicker opaque vases. Woods or metals. Think the warmth of alcohol--the colors of merlot, cabernet, cognac, brandy. What are your favorite colors and go with that. Have your bridesmaids try on dresses and see what looks best on them. You may find a dress that doesn't come in Navy and end up changing your colors.

My husband and I just went to his cousin's wedding this past weekend... she had chosen black and a light green... almost a minty green. The bridesmaids wore black satin dresses... short. The green was the accent for just about everything. It looked really sharp.
But I've also seen using a deep burgundy as the main color and black as an accent. There are a ton of possibilities. If it's easier, pick a main color and then just the slightest of accents. Or try using varying shades of the same color.
Good luck!

sapphire blue and a metallic whether it be silver, gold, pewter
you could pair a deep rich red with white accents
or a beautiful emerald green with deep gold accents
any of the rich gem tones with white. gold or silver accents would be fabulous.
add a little marabou fur trim here and there on your gowns, whether its around the hems or trim on the sleeves, or if you are having hooded capes you could trim the hoods with marabou fur, or your girls could have marabou fur muffs instead of flowers! there are also some fabulous faux furs out there in the fabric shops just waiting to be turned into fabulous accessories like the muffs.
winter weddings are so charming and romantic, have fun with it. happy wedding!

go with light pastel colors...lavender is my favorite color in dresses and for any wedding. I think it is such a great color that it looks good no matter when you are wearing it.
Lavender
Black - if a evening/night wedding
Don't be afraid to check www.davidsbridal.com for ideas or www.weddingchannel.com, or just do a google search for good colors. Because I am no fashion major but those are the two colors that I love for a wedding.

Jewel colors are beautiful - think ruby, sapphire, emerald.
Or maybe just midnight blue and a medium blue together, with white accents.
