Turn them into the lost&found. They're not yours.

If you find something you really like, you can always try to leave your name & ask if you can have them if they aren't picked up in whatever the time frame is for that specific lost&found -in schools it's often the end of the school year but who knows, they could do a cleaning out at the end of the fall semester too. (For valuable items the time will likely be longer, but there's also a greater chance you'll be able to register your name&address as the finder).

They do have an owner, forgetful as that person may be, and now they have cold hands and probably would like their gloves back. I am sure your school has a lost-and-found. You know what to do.

I would have not taken them. That is belonged to somebody.
Anyway, you don't know what kind of people who forget the gloves. it might be the person has a skin desease. yuk....
why don't you buy at the store if you like it??
that is consider stealing without the owner knowledge.
So I would have not taken it, if I were you...

I'd have left them where they were in case the owner came back, or taken them to the office and left a note on the chair saying what I'd done.

You aren't bad, but your decision was.
Thegloves did have an owner (even if a careless one) and you stole them from that person. You should have turned them into the lost & found or just left them alone.

It's always best to hand them into a lost & found or a teacher or the Principal's office.
