I don't know how much into reading or writing they'd be in, but my future sister in law loves reading and is into singing (family has a karoke machine) and is really into disney channel shows and movies. Last year she wanted a digital littlest pet shop pet, my feincee got her that and I had filled up a small tinkerbell bag with a bunch of girly things (diva sign, chocolate, notebook and pen, really nice smelling soap, etc) and I wrote a nice message in her card about being good, being safe, staying cool, not letting guys get to her, etc, etc. This year she is 13 and my feincee and I are making her a blanket by using a white sheet and sewing a gery fleece clothe to the other side. The sheet side will have jean patchs all over it and her name and stuff, there is pillow cases to match too. It's funny because we found out after she is into sewing herself and wants a sewing machine. For the boy I'm sure the bag of stuff would work great for him and like people said you can get movie tickets or other gift cards. So you can add that to both kids bags or baskets. Maybe put in their favourite candy or/and snacks and pop, pens, notebooks, books, candles, things to hang on their doors or walls, picture frames (maybe with a speical picture in it already), hats/mitts/scarfs, cell phone or mp3 player cases or holders, slippers, neckleces, braceletes, scrapbook or craft supplies if the girl likes that), t shirt for the boys one, pjs, socks, keychains, flashlight keychains, blank cds or memory sticks if they have computers, favourite movies or cds, batteries (can always use those), special soap or/and body sprays and washes, watches, stuffed animals and teddy bears, stickers/bumper stickers, posters.
Hope this helps

i understand the dilemna you're dealing with. My spouse and that i do an analogous element each and every 365 days in reminiscence of the son we lost 3 years in the past(he became into 22). what got here to my recommendations proper away became right into a cd participant for the 9 365 days previous and Ipods or mp3 gamers for the older little ones. no count number your determination you would be doing a great element and something you are going to be quite happy with. We make our determination greater durable because of the fact we seem for a youthful boy named Joseph or Joe. On Christmas morning we cry over our loss and then smile questioning of the little boy we merely made smile.

Ask them if they want to do sports, take music lessons, or similar. I was injured in a karate class and had to stop, but starting in (probably) January I will be taking horseback riding lessons and guitar lessons. I also have a laptop and an iPod. I also like the digital camera idea!! If money isn't an issue, then ask them what they're interested in and go from there.

digital cameras are Very inexpensive now.
Give them each a camera and a coupon for a special photo trip with you.
You can start them off by showing them how to look at things differently, with a photographers eye. They will soon want to
do it themselves.
If you don't know anything about photography, then ask them
to show you how to do it.
They get great gifts, you get quality time.
