The TV is a month old and it randomly turned off when i was watching it. when i turned it back on it had audio and a thin line of video running horizontally in the middle of the screen. the colors look like the are fine. I also can't pull up the menu. any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it?

Return it to the store for an exchange. If this is not an option you will have to contact the manufacture for service you can probably find their website and contact them by email.
