I am certainly glad that Ms. Gibbons is free. I'm also glad she is doing well. In regards to the website, I noticed that the bear was in stock for maybe one month in September 2005 and its manufactures haven't been able to produce more since 2005. It wasn't discontinued recently. In any case, I cannot make judgement on this but I can say this whole situation was thrown out of porportion and should never have taken place.

Yet another example of why Sudan has no right to imprison anyone for allowing her students to name a bear Muhammad. It isn't religious-based, and I'm more inclined to believe that the whole mess has political strings attached all over. That's why it took them three months to decide if it was bad or not, and why none of her co-workers, students, or parents of the students were bothered in the least.
I'm SO relieved that she has been released! Hopefully without any harm done to her (aside from the fear and humiliation of such an ordeal).

"Earlier Monday, President Omar al-Bashir pardoned Gibbons after two British Muslim politicians from the House of Lords met with him to plead for her release.
Ghazi Saladdin, a senior presidential adviser, said al-Bashir insisted that Gibbons had a "fair trial," but he agreed to pardon her because of the efforts by the British Muslim delegation."
From above statements its clear that British Muslims made a petition and made other efforts as well as meet the president in person to plead for her release. Also, the Sudan president pardoned her BECAUSE of the efforts of the British Muslim delegation.
So what have the bigots done to help her? Nothing, only thing they did was bash Islam on here, like the bigot Simon above...

nicely, no longer all Muslims meet the factors of what a Muslim is meant to be. in this occasion, we've a non-Muslim woman who allowed her Muslim type to call the teddy submit to what they needed. they chosen Muhammad. no longer "Prophet Muhammad" or something remotely close. merely Muhammad. merely like tens of millions of Muslims have named their infants. Naming a teddy submit to Muhammad isn't an insult to Islam, nor the Prophet, nor something or every person else. Muslims who think of she is responsible and merits punsihment are themselves an insult to Islam and the Prophet and the Muslims international. I recommend them to ascertain greater approximately how rather significant this is to stand up for justice in Islam, no longer stand against somebody using fact different people who call themselves Muslim do too. all of us understand positively that had this instructor been Muslim residing interior the states and allowed her type to call their teddy submit to Jesus, we could be protecting massive rallies helping her and protesting the injustice they tried to place on her. this is our accountability to combat for justice and combat against oppression, and if a non-Muslim is being oppressed by way of a Muslim, this is nevertheless our accountability to combat for them. ~~~~~~~~~~ Oh, and no, we don't worship the Prophet Muhammad.

I've said this before, I think the whole teddy bear incident has been taken out context by the Government and the media. It should never have got to that stage, it was obviously an innocent mistake.
May God help and forgive us all!!!!

Heck everytime I read these kinds of questions I think about the soft-stuffed Jesus toy at www.leafletonline.com and wonder what the whole thing is really about. I respect Muslims but this trips me out.

A good question.
I doubt that you are going to get many people who meet your criteria for answering this question, so let me have a stab at it for them:
Because they are a bunch of mindless hypocrites who are just following the direction that their Imam leads them in. The Imam may know better, but does not care as long as he can get the mob to call for the blood of a westerner.
It is the same as the cartoons, where a load of way more offensive drawings just happened to drop into the folder that the Imams used to show how offensive the cartoons were.
Yes, I am glad she is free and on her way home.
I am sad that she was put though this circus.
I am sad for the kids who have lost, what sounds like, a good and caring teacher.
