For anyone that was watching the funeral of NFL Star, Sean Taylor: the pastor said that people will be judged by the "trend" of their life. If they were doing good most of their life they shall receive a Godly reward. How many people believe that?
I don't think being a christian and going to heaven is based on a "trend" it is a lifestyle.

If you are the best person in the world and you reject Jesus you go to Hell. Jesus was clear He is the only way. I will not water down the gospel to be politically correct.

Most people take it as just being a trend. They don't even know the meaning of being Christian (unless it's there opinion). I watched some of it and clearly they was making it more of a skeptical then a funeral. Sean Taylor is in a "deep sleep" currently right now (Ecclesiastes 9:5). He's neither in a "fiery hell" or heaven (Ecclesiastes 9:10). In Romans 6:23 it mentions this: "The wages sin pays is death". When he died his sins were paid for.

Sean Taylor is currently waiting for an resurrection of dead. Here are some scriptures for that fact: John 5:28,29 Acts 24:15 and Revelation 20:13.

There are many disagreements among Christians about this topic. The bible doesn't really help to clear it up any either.

Some think it is a lifestyle, others a trend, others think that Grace covers all.

The truth is that it is all just a gut shot, and the afterlife, isn't really worth fighting over, when we have this life to worry about.

Living for people today and for future generations is far more productive, given out complete lack of information about life after death.

I disagree with the pastor's statement. What a shame! He had a national audience and could have spread the truth of Christ instead of trying to gain popularity by being PC.

That is not a biblical teaching. The only way you get into heaven is through intellectual, emotional and willful repentance for your sins and then coming to Christ in prayer and asking Him to save you.
