Should Yahoo have a mechanism that requires a question to be reported by at least as many users as approved of the question before removing it?

That makes sense, but this is YA that you are talking about...

I don't think the removal should be so automatic. If a certain question has a certain amount of stars, then the question should be put in a "holding center" until an actual person can review it and deem removable or not.

BIG YES. My bets are that Yahoo answers will be no more in 5 years, maybe sooner, at the rate they are pissing off those who post here.

Yahoo may be a free site, but our time is not free. Without the "free" users of Yahoo, there would be no advertisers, hence no money for Yahoo.

Yahoo is butchering their cash cow.

Yahoo should be actually reading the reported questions and making real judgement calls rather than just violating everything that gets reported.

As far as I can tell, the more stars a question gets, the more likely it is to be deleted. I think the report monkeys look for questions people mark as interesting and target them for deletion.

It really clears up the site for all those, "Do you love Jesus as much as I do?", questions.

Not a bad idea - I also think you should be limited to reporting no more frequently than your level, per week. Level 3 allows 3 reports per week.

Yahoo, being the all-powerful net behemoth, should know better than allow just about ANYONE to use that stupid little button, totally overlooking the potential for abuse...

It's like giving switchblades to kindergarten kids, so they can defend themselves from bullies....

It makes no sense but yes you should be able to answer whatever accusations are thrown at you, otherwise this bullying of sections of non believers or opposed to mainstream religions will continue..
