He spoke to the apostles after his resurrection. Why does he not anymore. This is assuming apostles were prophetic/prophets.

He absolutely does.
The common misconception is that the Bible is one book. The word Bible itself comes from Biblio, meaning library. The actual Bible, or the many versions thereof, was not compiled until the 4th century, A.D. -And that, after much contention. Another major change occurred when certain books from the Catholic version of the bible (Maccabees, Tobit, Judith, etc...), often referred to as the deuterocanonical books.

The bible was not one journal that one prophet would pick up, write their dealings with God, then hand it on to the next.
To assume that everything God has ever said or did is contained in the Bible is selling God short. The last verse in the Gospel of John states "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written." -John 21:25

I believe the Bible, don't get me wrong. I'm just amazed that so many people that claim to believe in a living God say that he does not speak to his servants anymore.
Why would he not?
Does he not love us anymore?
Do we not need his continued guidance anymore?
If the argument is to be used that all we need is in the Bible, then we might as well say that if we have Matthew, we don't need Mark or Luke (the other synoptic gospels), because they contain similar information.
Yes, God still speaks. Yes he still cares. And in my opinion, the world is in more need of his guidance and inspired servants than ever before.

1st of all God was never resurrected however his son Jesus Christ was resurrected by God. Acts 2:23,24
verse 23 talks about jesus (The man fastened to the stake)
Verse 24 Says "But God resurrected him by loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to continue to be held by it."

In answer to your original Q? Back in the Day of the prophets the God's word was not not complete so therefore now that we have the complete Bible God no longer needs to send prophets to us however he has provided us with "gifts in men" Ephesians 3:7 who can help us to truly understand the bible

God has no lips, except yours, mine and everyone else's.

Anyone who opens their hearts and minds to God becomes a 'prophet' by the inspiration of God.

We are Hu-man Be-ings, and our very name describes our nature:

Hu - is the most ancient name ever recorded for God.
Man - is the ancient Sanskrit name for 'mind'.
Be - to 'be' mean that something 'is'
Ing - the suffix 'ing' here means 'in activity.'

A 'Hu-man Be-ing' is God's mind in activity, we are 'Gods.'

Jn 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are Gods?

By wrong thinking and acting, we have imbibed forces of Be-ing that are 'poisonous' to the mind and which have caused a deep sleep to come over us.

When we awaken, we shall reveal the Christ in us that has been hidden since the foundation of the World.

Yes, God speaks, but are YOU listening?

he does! how do you think anything gets done around here? if God didn't impart knowledge, something to share with humanity we'd still live in the 20's.

Funnily enough, much like demons, apparently God is allergic to anti-psychotic meds, too!

Which is good, because apparently he still occasionally tells people to kill their families/friends/strangers. And if the docs catch it in time, they can drug the sh*t out of the "prophets."
