let your daughter be the bigger person. out of respect let her invite grandparents. if they don't come it will be on them. if there is a history of the grandparents avoiding her, your daughter is already prepared for what may happen. but she will be looked upon as the mature one. dont worry about it, help your daughter enjoy her very special day.

I would sit down with my grandparents and tell them that you are not comfortable having your uncle at the wedding but don't wish to elaborate. Let them know that you don't have a grudge against him (You could even invite your aunt that just got divorced and uncle's new wife and daughter to show there's no hard feelings towards anyone) and tell them how important it is to you for them to be there. This should be a serious sit down talk with you, your fiance and your grandparents. This is a really tough situation and I'm sorry that your happy day is being ruined by family drama when it's your day and not any of their business. But if your grandparents don't want to budge, don't give in. BTW, I'd tell your uncles new wife (after the wedding probably) about it because you don't want the same thing to happen to her daughter. Good luck & Happy Wedding :)

I'd say make the gesture and send them invitations. If they come, fine, put up with it like an adult... but if they don't, that's perfectly fine too. That way, they can't possibly complain later that they were never invited to the wedding.

Wedding days are about family and friends. It should not be about the politics involved with family members you are not close with. It is her day and she can invite who she wants to.
I can understand not wanting to strain the relationship anymore or not wanting to make them mad. But if they have not made an effort then I wouldn't invite them to mine.

A WEDDING IS THE GIFT OF A NEW LIFE. IF SHE LOVE BOTH OF THEM, THEN SHE SHOULD INVITE THEM IF SHE WANTS THEM THERE. SHE CAN NOT WORRY ABOUT WHAT THE NEXT PERSON FEEL THAT SHE SHOULD DO UNLESS ITS HER HUSBAND CAUSE IT IS HER DAY. THINK OF IT IF IT WERE YOU WOULD YOU LISTEN TO SOME ONE ELSE ON YOUR DAY?

That is a hard situation. Above all though its her wedding and she ultimately determines the guest list and preparations. Its hard because you may feel she will regret that however its her choice to make. Best of Luck! :)

I think you should invite them and if they dont turn up just leave it but if they were willing to turn up and not invited it would cause extreme tensions among everyone...
