By breaking international law and using military force, that's how. They DO have a history of this, you know.
The Serbs are already paying for their indiscretions by being banned from the EU until 2020. I'm sure that will be extended if they take the warfare route.
Thank God Milosevic is dead. I don't know how powerful his survivors in crime are; the Serbian news isn't exactly unbiased.

They can't!! It is simple, the Serbs can only hope to isolate Kosovo once they do it, basically Kosovo has been independent since 1999 anyway.
There are French, British, American and German controlled zones, are they willing to risk war with these countries for a bit of land they don't control and does not have their people in?? Actually yes they are, but maybe not on such a scale, they would have the russians behind them, but no one else.
The serbs lost last time, and they would lose again.

By celebrating the defeat, they are well known for crying all along their history for lost battles.As a born losers, they will celebrate independent Kosovo for a very long time, if you don't understand their behavior don't worry, nobody actually understand them.

You all forget Russian veto :P They can ban Independence without a problem. That is the easiest way.
And, I cannot understand you people who say it is crime that Serbia uses military force in Kosovo!!! Imagine this - for example some terrorists in New Mexico decide to declare Independence - would you sit quietly and let them do so!? According to constitutional law of Serbia, Kosovo is its part, so it is absolutely legal to use military force against the terrorists.
But, I must say that I am AGAINST war, or similar stuff. I just say it is an ultimate solution if the diplomacy fail.
