What else can I use to keep the theme. I am finding it very hard to get the impression of a candy tree when you first see it. I need more decorations. Right now I have candy cane fabric bows - dough cookies that are painted red and white - candy canes - a few sparse decorations that look like candies - snowflakes made out of gumdrops - and that's it......any other ideas?? Looking for mostly red and white....
Thanks

Oh this will be really cute and the kids will love this project, it is an instant tradtion. Buy a lot of those clear glass ball ornaments and take your family out to the store and let them pick out candy that they can put inside of the glass ornaments (make sure you get ones that you can take the top off and put it back on) try all sort of candies like m&m's skittles gummy worms juju beads jolly ranchers. Go crazy with it. Kids love it and if the candy is small and round you can empty out the ornaments and use them next year. (gummy worms do not come out so don't use them unless you are will to throw the ornaments away after the holidays.) if you color cordinate the m&m's it can look really pretty.

A candy garland! Either tie or staple hard candies together wrapper twist to wrapper twist in a long chain and then drape it all around the tree. And don't forget the candy canes hung from the branch tips!

Keep a box of Lindt chocolates next to the tree. Who's gonna eat a candy cane when u have those goodies near by.

I took the little plastic cups that you put salsa in and glued them together, rim to rim, then wrapped the cups with different colored cellophane paper to look like giant wrapped candies. I tied each end with some ribbon and then strung them together with more ribbon to form a garland. If you are really ambitious, you could put a different colored light in each cup to form a garland. They are really cute and look like giant wrapped hard candies.

You could mold some chocolates and wrap them in silver and red foil. And make some Marzipan .
