If the Bible was inspired by God why would God speak to us by such generic letters from Paul to the churches? God sure has used a strange way to give us his Word, don't ya think?

What is so strange about it. 2 Timothy is a letter written by Paul to Timothy. He is instructiing Timothy to greet Prisca and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus.

You could also say the same thing about the scripture earlier in 2 Tim 1:5 (grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice). I doubt Paul had any idea his letters would be classified as scripture. But, God had other plans. It is no wonder Paul was chosen by God to propagate His church. Paul's insight is unmatched. What an example to the church today.

I agree with you. God seems to always to do his works in ways that we don't expect. The Messiah was the perfect example. Who would have thought that God would do it that way? God knows what he is doing. Even though I don't understand all of it, I do understand enough to know his will in my life. And having Paul's writings preserved throughout history has given all of us today hope and better understanding of God.

If God exists and the bible is his word, then he doesn't care to clearly express his will to mankind.

There are far too many ways to interpret the scriptures for it to be effective in formulating a belief system.

Religious people claim it is important for establishing morals, but that is only because they ignore the parts that clearly are considered immoral in our society today.

Why are their books/compilations today of letters written from war zones, or by past Presidents? Because there is something to be learned by them. They were inspired to be written to the specific local congregation, for their guidance and comfort, but with the greater congregation in mind.
